An early look at Santa Fe and Pflumm
Many shipments of animals were picked up by local farmers and stockmen and driven to their farms to the south and east of the Old Downtown Lenexa town site from 1869 to the 1890s. Owners would meet the shipments at cattle pens in the area of what today is Haskins Street and Santa Fe Trail Drive .
Bradshaw Brothers' two-story frame building, seen in this photo, is on the northeast corner of Santa Fe Trail Drive and Pflumm Road . The public hall was on the second floor. |
